Flat planes of my pages
The reason i have done this is so when im making the final piece i have an idea of what im doing to do and it will save me time because i have the main background of what im doing all though you there is not colour or font you can see. The reason my pages look like this is because I like it look clean and clear so you can look at everything and see everything, because of tis i has shaped how my pages will look and the colours i will use to make it look as neat and nice as I can. the reasons that i have done these is because it makes everything easy, by doing this i have learnt that it will have made it much easier and faster later on in the project.

Risk assessment
My photo shoot is outdoors so i have filled out a risk assessment so I know what the risks are and how to stop them from happening. the reason I have done this is so that when we are out in the woods or in the area where we wish to shoot the photos for my front cover and double page that I will know what problems may come up. by doing this I have made it easier on the day so that I do not have to think about the problems.
Logo's
These are some of my logo designs that I have created, I like the first one best because it is pure and simple and easy to read.

Changing my genre
When i first started I wanted to base my magazine of the genre of acoustic, but after researching and finding out more about the genre I have decided I would much prefer to do the genre Indie. I have changed because I have been struggling to find acoustic artists magazines and also I like indie more, so I will find it much easier because I have a genius intrest in the music.

Prelim evaluation
I am quite happy with my front cover. Although at the start we had a great deal of problems trying to get photoshop to work, It did eventually work. I think my front cover is very eye catching because of the colours and pattern I used for our background. I think I used a strong image as the main image is very large and has lots of contrasting colours to the background which makes it stand out and easy to see.
Because of the placement of my image it means that it stands out a lot more because there is not too much whitespace. I think there is some so that people are dawn to the picture and nothing else on the cover.
I think the white writing stands out because of the blue background so its very clear and because of the random sized it draws you into reading what it says.
I think the idea of the cover is to persuade the reader to buy and then read the magazine, for this point i think the cover is biased as its trying to get people to read on through the magazine. I have used word and small sentences to connect to the reader on the front by offering things they may be interested in because of the fact they are interested in reading a music magazine. I have used facts and opinions to say things like “free interview with Dave Grohl inside” that is a fact because it will be in the magazine so people will see that and if they are interested in music may want to see what he has said in his interview. In all the writing on the front there is a subtext. the writing on the front is trying to get people to read on through the magazine and make sure they are interested so they read it again. this subtext is fairly clear as almost all magazines have this subtext as they want to sell magazines so they have to draw people in.
I think the background pattern and colours are easy to remember because they are so bright. and easy to see if they where in a news stand. The same color is used through out the magazine cover and that makes you think of it if you ever think of the color because it's all shades and colors of blue.the writing on the front is very casual and is slang I think this layout fits together very well because of the strong pattern in the background and then the picture on top of the pattern, I think the header was a good idea because I don't really like it when magazines dont have that and just have the writing on top of the magazine. I think this layout is slot like other magazines because of the paper size, and also the layout has effected what it looks like because it gives a very magazine feel. I think mine could have gone better if we had more time as we have problems with cameras, photoshop and software like that.

Preliminary exercise.
Preliminary task: using DTP and an image manipulation program. Produce the front page of a new school/collage magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and masthead. Additionally candidates must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of DTP.

What is the media?
What is meant by web 2.0?
Web 2.0 is the idea of the proliferation of interconnected and interactivity of web-delivered content.
what is meant by the words "mediation", "proliferation" and saturation mean in a media context?
As media images proliferate and our ability to become producers as well as consumers of media products increases. it has become clear that we live in an increasingly "mediated" society in which many of our ideas about the world, our knowledge of what is happening and, perhaps most importantly, our values, come beyond our individual daily or immediate experience.
Proliferation means a sudden increase in the amount or number of something. for example you could say "the proliferation of global media networks"
What is meant by "the media"?
Although the speed of change in media technology and use makes it increasingly problematic to define what we mean by media, We have tried to identify certain key characteristics that seem to apply to all media products at any point in history. these basic characteristics can be summed up in the following general statements
- The media reaches a large amount of people.
- The media, although centrally produced, are usually privately consumed
- Media products are "shared"
- The media are controlled or "regulated"
- The media rely on sophisticated technology
- The media are "modern"
- The media are expensive to produce
media products are "shared" what does this mean?
The media produce texts that are both popular-hence the high audience figures- and also "shared" in the sense that they become part of our common culture. today we are all familiar with the expressions such as "your fired" or "phone a friend" Even those who do not .
regularly watch or have never seen the television shows The apprentice or Who wants to be a millionaire? Will know the phrases origins and what they signify.
Why is the media so strictly regulated in countries like Burma, China and Ethiopia?
The media is restricted in some of these country's by the government as a means of "controlling" the circulation of ideas and criticisms. Often one of the first things that happens in a revolution is that the national media and communication's centres are taken over, So that the new leaders can "control" the messages that are transmitted. In this way they use media to win the "hearts and minds" of the people.
Why are the media so important is society today?
The way in which the media are changing also presents difficulties when trying to study, analyse and understand the role and influence and understand the role and influence the media have in society in general and in our lives in particular. Although the questions of why the media are important is a compilation one, below are some possible answers
- The media tell us what is going on in the world.
- The media are a central part of our lives.
- The media are influential.
- Domestic media hardware has become an intrinsic part of our homes and our lives.
- The media are very profitable.
