What have you learnt about technologies while make your product?


While making my pages I learnt about photoshop. When I started to make my pages I didn't even know how to use a mac let alone use photoshop so over the months of making our magazine i have learnt lots about how edit photos and what everything does and now i think im very good at using photo manipulation  software. without the knowledge of how to use photoshop i think this task would have been  much harder because we would have had to use programes that are not as good and the end result would not have worked as well. 
As well as the editing the photo i also had to use cameras in order to take the photos, the camera I used was a Canon 550d with a 18mm-55mm lens and a 55mm-150mm lens because of this i was able to get the shots required to make my pages the best they could be.
In order to show some of the skills i have used i my pages i have uploaded videos of me making them to my blog for me to do this it ment that i have to use screen capture software. I used quicktime in order to do this then edited the footage in after effects. 
In order to make present all my work i have uploaded to my own blog to do this i have to learn how to use a blog and what they do. 
By doing all of this i was able to make pages that i think look good because of all the new skill I have developed

Spotify and Napster

Spotify is a company that launch in 2008. they made spotify because they didn't that music should be on your company so they thought of the idea and made it. months later they had spotify. Spotify is a Swedish DRM-based music streaming service offering streaming of selected music from a range of major and independent record labels, including Sony, EMI, Warner Music Group, and Universal. Launched in October 2008 by Swedish startup Spotify AB, the service had approximately ten million users as of 15 September 2010; about 2.5 million of whom were paying members. The service is, as of November 2011, available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Facebook compatibility allows Spotify users to share music with Facebook friends through the use of the service’s inbox. Spotify users are able to send tracks or playlists to friends who, in return, are able to access this music through their Spotify account. This use of social media to increase popularity has put Spotify in the spotlight with recent reports suggesting that the Swedish firm is in advanced talks with the Russian-based venture capital group Digital Sky Technologies with possibility of a $100 million investment that could value the firm at somewhere between $1 billion and $2 billion.

Spotify has also managed to have a positive affect on the “black market” of music downloads. Having the option to stream millions of tracks supported by an occasional ad, or free of ads for a small monthly fee, Spotify appears to be serious competitor to music piracy. Through quarterly surveys done in various European countries researchers have polled the music consumption habits of thousands of people, and in their most recent report they find that music piracy continues to drop. Since 2009, the numbers of people who download music illegally has decreased by more than 25 percent in sweden, and over the last year alone it dropped by 9 percent all throughout Europe. This downward trend in music piracy is most likely due to Spotifys gains in popularity throughout Europe. If the service can continue to gain momentum the online piracy may decrease in the U.S as well giving much relief to dozens of record companies.

I have done this so you can see one of the steps so that you can see how i started off making my magazine cover.

When we did my peer assment most people said they think I should make it so that i have more fonts on the page. Another thing that lots of people said was that they thought the advent for the interview at the bottom was much to big and did not need to be that big.
Pople also noticed something that i had not and that is that my mast head did not have a capital letter and also the letters didn't link in the way i wanted them too so i have fixed that since everyone looked at my page. 
Some of the positive feedback was that lots of the people liked the fact i have the very light photo in the back, i did this by putting a photo there and changing the opacity of the photo so that everything else can be seen of the top of it. People also liked my mast head because of ow it linked with my magazine name of "Pulse"
